Tropicana Casino & Hotel : "Wonderful weekend at the Trop" view full review

My wife and I enjoyed a very relaxing weekend. We love the Trop and recently spent 5 days with our kids there also. This past weekend was just about the two of us as we needed some relaxing time together. We would recommend the Tropicana to our friends and are already planning a return. None of the other casinos can compare to the Tropicana's selection of restaurants and shopping. The variety of different gourmet dining choices is what we enjoy most. We will see you again sonn.

We enjoyed the atmosphere. Once you were inside you felt like you were somewhere else. The Havana area was wonderful. I enjoyed sitting and watching the guests strolling by and dancing or swaying to the music. We enjoyed the variety of restaurants and shops. However, we wish there had been more to do for people who don't gamble. We enjoyed the Motown show (at another hotel)and wanted to see the comedy act but were not sure how clean the act would be. Maybe you can setup a rating system to let guests know how clean is the act. Also, maybe you can add a children's pool. I saw a lot of guests with small children. Their only option would be the beach.

We selected this hotel because it was suppose to have easy access to the beach, not for business or the casinos.

Unfortunately access to beach and pool was not that easy.

I enjoyed staying here, but it is "far" from the beach. Even though the hotel is on the boardwalk it is a long trek to the beach. I went down specifically for the beach and the ocean. It still is a great place to stay.
Rooms are clean and larger than most. Staff is polite and helpful. Bathrooms real big and very clean.
You will not be disappointed. Of course the night life was fantastic and that was just in this hotel. If you cannot find something to do it is not the hotels fault. We ate twice at Ri Ra's and loved the food and prices were not high.
Some of the restaurants are expensive, but the food is good at all of them.

The hotel was very nice, we enjoyed our stay and would come again. My husband and I were Celebrating our 5th year wedding anniversary and we had a great time! We are looking forward to coming back, The board walk was nice and the weather was great. We loved the look of the hotel. My husband was blown away with the fact that everyone was so nice and the hotel was so clean. I look forward to coming back in the future.

I have stayed at the trop many times. I have never had a bad experience there. Very clean rooms and casino. Check in and check out has been very pleasant every time. Restaurants are excellent. Service was very good as well. Rooms are very clean and neat. Maids do an excellent job at cleaning the rooms and making you feel comfortable. Staff and security are very pleasant and helpful. Every show that my wife and I have attended; have been excellent. I really rate the tropicana a full 10 out of a possible 10. Thanks Tropicana!!!

I have stayed at the Tropicana several times and with each visit have been treated extremely well and the hotel in general is very clean. We also enjoyed the air show that just happened to be going on when we were there. The entire Casino and Hotel are very enjoyable to visit. We plan on returning again either later in the year or possibly again next summer. I want to thank the personnel who work at the resort many times over for being so friendly.

I hadn't been to Atlantic City in twelve years. Decided to take my girlfriend and check it out. We had a great time, won some money and enjoyed and the shops and services. We were only there one night which really wasn't enough time to see all the possibilities in the complex. We met some friendly patrons and even got treated to a meal by one of your frequent customers. I plan to return and spent more time there in the future. All in all it was a great time.

Even though I didn't win any money in the casino, I had the most wonderful stay. Yes, I would recommend this hotel to everyone. This place is beautiful. I actually stayed at the Tropicana the whole weekend. I didn't go hotel or casino hopping. I was with three other girls which one of them was a birthday girl and it was her first time to Atlantic City. And we all had a wonderful time. We plan to go again next year.

Hotel was great. Staff was excellent and very polite at all times. Look forward to our next visit. Location was excellent sort of in the middle of boardwalk. Restaurant selection was awesome with every type of food to satisfy every taste. The only draw back was certain restaurant never had a reservation for the time we would have liked the two days we were there. Shopping was also excellent for men and women. We really can't say enough about the hotel, we would definitely recommend was a place to go.

The trip to AC was a gift to my significant other for his birthday, unfortunately he was unable to go due to a business meeting so I went alone. I did not arrive until Wednesday evening and it was late, the front desk staff greeted me with smiles which I always appreciate (customer focus). Once I entered my room I called for room service and I took a shower while I waited for my food to arrive, I thought it took a long time but actually it was only about 35-40 minutes (I was starving). The bed was so comfortable I did not get up the next morning until after 11:00 which was not part of the original plan of going to the beach but I came to rest and have some quiet time. I will definitely stay at the Tropicana again and recommend it to my friends. By the way I did go to the casino late at night when it was kind of quiet and I had fun wandering around playing different games. It was an experience I will not soon forget.

My daughter and myself took her three children to see the ocean for the first time. We stayed at the Tropicana. It was a very nice hotel. The location was great. It was a bit difficult taking children there because this hotel seems to be geared to accommodate adults. The hotel did go out of its way to accommodate our arriving one day early. They found us connecting rooms large enough to accommodate three children and two adults with a living area between the rooms. The only problem was that the television in the living area did not work. They did send a repair man to fix it but it only worked for one day. Overall, we were pleased with the hotel.

This was to be mine and my husbands honeymoon after 4 years. The room was dirty, are alarm clock kept blinking which was very annoying. It took someone 8 hours to finally come and replace it. (the phone rang at 1:00 in the morning for them to replace it). Most of the staff were not very friendly at all. The only good thing about our stay was the comedy show that we had attended, but then we had to tip the person sitting us an extra 10.00 to get us closer to the stage. Where we were sitting at originally was ridiculous. I called it the nose bleed section. All in all I rate everything a 2. Not happy at all about our stay. Would definitely not recommend this to anyone.

I stayed at the Tropicana the last time I stayed over night in Atlantic City. My Experience was okay then, which is why we returned to the Tropicana. This time, however, the glitter!!!! or ambiance was different. I was not satisfied with the size of the room and its amenities, i.e. the sitting area very tight (uncomfortable), no coffee pot, no radio, would have had to pay for TV music access, morning paper only once, only paid access to the internet, and the sign- in indicated that it was not secure, then asked for my credit card information.

There was always a long wait for the elevator.

The staff was hospitable, receptive, and very helpful with giving direction.

Everything was fine except the brawl that happened across the hall. About 12:00 that evening, security was called and almost an hour later, the group was finally escorted out. This was not appreciated.
Other than that the casino has improved, but maybe more signs are needed for direction. We still couldn't get our bearings on where to go for things.
The bed in the room was comfortable which was a plus after a busy day of traveling and enjoying the casino after our arrival.
