we stayed @ your showboat location from 8/24-8/27/09 my husband made the reservations as a surprise to celebrate his birthday on 8/24 and our 20th anniversary on 8/25. When we checked in your hotel had us in non smoking and we had to prove with the confirmation my hus printed that he ordered smoking they said there were no more rooms available then 1 min later there was.Now my husband was visibly upset that his plans were going wrong now. When we arrived at our room I opened the curtains and to my surprise we had a breathtaking view of a wall that's it a wall. We proceeded to complain about our room & were told there was nothing that could be done. Your staff from beginning to end is the most unpersonable staff we have ever encountered in any hotels we have stayed over the course of 20 years. We have to rate you by far the worst. I felt so bad for my husband here he planned this surprise to celebrate & I would have complained further to your staff & supervisors but I did not want to upset my husband anymore. He kept on apologizing to me for the horrible room. Your staff was made aware of how important this trip was to us & nobody cared to make it better no apology no kindness no nothing. If that is how you train your staff then somebody better include a smile and a touch of kindness in the rule book. Just because we asked for a smoking room does not make us second class citizens, our money is just as good as non smoking & it paid the bill just the same. When we checked out I advised a supervisor that your check in & check out staff needs to be worked on & her answer was not what was wrong it was I will have to look into that. Thank you for ruining my 20th anniversary which was suppose to be a good memory turned out to be a horror. I will tell everyone traveling to AC not to stay at showboat.

Was very happy with the attractions and having everything we needed right there in walking distance.
The room was nice,the entertainment was nice,had a really nice time.Was not pleased with the check-in.I had reserved the room way in advance and paid in full,smoking room.At check-in.The person that I had dealt with was very rude and not very understanding,I was basically told I don't know what to tell you. I was told there were no more smoking rooms.When I had told them I reserved one I was told they were a first come first serve basis.I feel that I should have been told that when I had reserved the room ahead of time.I had also reserved a room with a view.Was disappointed with that.I had gotten a room with the valet parking view and the parking garage.The room was very nice.

My big problem with this hotel was that our room was in such bad shape. The door looked like someone had a fight with it and loss. The inside was all banged up and and scratched and burnt(just very old). Our room was next to the elevator and you heard it go up and down and make stops on all the floors banging all night(very hard to get any sleep). When asked to be moved the clerk at the front desk did not help me and would not give us any reason why,just said sorry. The casino was great and the people were very nice. The hotel had good food but we found ourselves going out of our hotel and going to others places to eat.We loved the little show that they put on several times a day on the casino floor. We love using Atlantic City.com for our reservations and will use them again but we did feel like they treated us different because we did not book our stay with them,(the casino). If you are looking for a nice pool and a way to relax this might not be for you. The pool was very small and dirty. We were looking for a beautiful view of the beach or even a partial view and all we got was a construction site which made a lot of noise.It will be very hard for me to stay at this hotel again.

I enjoyed my stay at Showboat but except for two things. First I can't wait till the no-smoking ban goes into effect....it was very smokey throughout the whole casino! Second, I was disappointed in the beach at Showboat. There isn't much beach and whatever beach was there, the sand was slanted so it was rather difficult to lay or sit in a chair on a curve! Otherwise, I still enjoy the shows and great food! I would come back again!

My recent stay (August 2009) at Atlantic City's Showboat Hotel & Casino was the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered. My roommate and I were locked in our rooms from the inside due to a mal-functioning bolt lock which is a huge fire and safety code violation. Even the Locksmith and Security Supervisor accidentally locked themselves in our room while testing it again. This was a very unnerving way of starting my vacation. They showed no guest safety concern and did not acknowledge a problem....I had to work very hard to get my room changed and had a very difficult interaction with the front desk supervisor Maryann. Needless to say, my experience did not improve from there. The room that I was eventually changed to was a different floor but in worse condition than the one before. Absolutely no water pressure at the shower, poor ventilation (smoke) in the casino. I attempted to give Showboat another attempt to make this right by speaking with another front desk supervisor (Rose) who was very supportive, but was given the impression that she had no authority to make this better for me and my guest. She provided me with the name and contact numbers of the hotel manager and hotel director. I left a detailed voice mail message for the director, Mr. J. Welch right after speaking with Rose, but I have yet to hear back or receive an apology for a terrible experience, poor customer service, and acknowledging guest safety concerns. The thought of having to leave my room during a fire or emergency in the middle of the night and not being able to gives me chills. I would hate that another paying customer goes through even half the poor experience I had. P.C., Coral Springs, FL

We had a great stay with good prices midweek. The beach and boardwalk were nicer than I was expecting. The Showboat staff were all friendly,informative,and we were pleased with all that the hotel had to offer. Although I thought the casino bars were a little pricey, the coupons I received shaved alot off other services and the buffet. If the weekend rate wasn't so high we would have spent more time there, I hope to return next summer.

The Showboat was a great hotel. With it being on the end of the Boardwalk we walk all the way to the other end and was able to see everything.
We had a little snag at the beginning with a room that smelled of smoke but once reported they move us right away. The show at the House of Blues and the food was good as well. (Try the catfish nuggets)We rally had a great time.

The only down side is they need to get a business center. I forgot to print my tickets for the show and had to go next door to the Taj Mahal.

Our stay was very pleasant!! My children love the Carnival shows.. and get the beats from the dancers. The pool area is so calm, and beautiful....clean is a awesome getaway ,excellent!! Is so closed to the pier for the children, the beach is is a couple of steps away !!, the kids want to stay longer ...It was a very nice vacation .. I recommend the Showboat to any one !! The view from my room was great !!Thank you for your service!!

Had a lovely 2-night stay - we had 4 rooms for grandparents (me) plus 3 families with 2 young kids each. We had rooms close together, close to the beach and Steel Pier. We were able to check in at 12:30 for 2 rooms - had to wait a while for the other 2, but it was no biggie. Rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable. No problems with the little ones walking through the lobby to get to the boardwalk. Had a great stay. Would do it again.

I had a wonderful time. I brought my mother to see Atlantic City because she hasn't been there since she was a young girl. We enjoyed the performance in the lobby. The pool was small but that is the only complaint. The people were friendly and polite. There were plenty of slot machines for everyone and the hotel was wonderfully decorated. the restaurants were nice and clean with a variety of foods to choose from. all in all a very good time

My wife and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and due to a work related situation, we were not able to take the trip we had planned, so we decided to spend a couple of days in Atlantic City. The Showboat Hotel had great rates, restaurants, and entertainment listed in their ads, so we decided to give them a try.
We had a very nice time, but found that the "nice" restaurants were not open on Mondays at the Showboat, nor were any of the nightclubs. In fact, as we found out, most of the restaurants and shows in all the hotels were closed on Mondays and this wasn't published on the internet. Monday was our anniversary and the only place that had entertainment was Harrah's Hawaiian show. We tried all day to get tickets, but couldn't, even though we were told tickets were available at the venue. We asked Showboat customer service to help us, but they told us they couldn't, so we ended up having dinner at the buffet. It was rather disappointing, to say the least.
The hotel was nice, but if you only have a couple of days, and you want some entertainment or a romantic restaurant, don't go on a Monday!!

We were very pleased with our stay at the Showboat. We enjoyed a spacious, clean room at an affordable rate. We generally stay at a less expensive chain hotel when we visit Atlantic City but at this price, we will never go back to the other motel. The staff was friendly and check in and check out was fast and efficient. The room was well appointed and the bathroom was very luxurious. We appreciated the comfortable couch in the room and the refrigerator.

My husband and I had a great stay at The ShowBoat hotel and casino. It was exciting to stay right at one of the big casinos on the boardwalk. We walked up and down the ocean, stopped at various bars and casinos, and listened to lots of good music.

We particularly enjoyed the House of Blues - good food and music. We enjoyed having a bloody Mary in the morning while gambling a bit at the bar. The ShowBoat was our favorite spot.

We had a great time. You will spend time waiting on line to check in if you are not a diamond customer, but the front desk personnel were very nice and make you feel very welcome. The 6th floor pool was great. The hotel is on the boardwalk and across from the beach. Lots of shopping and great restaurants including a buffet. The casino had plenty of non smoking areas to gamble. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great time.

This was my first time in Atlantic City and I turned 59 while we were there. I felt like a little kid; the lights, music, Mardi Gras parades; the jingle of the slot machines even though only vouchers come out and not coins. It was a long but pleasant walk down to Caesars where we saw Tony Bennett. The room service for breakfast was spectacular and far less expensive for 2 then people think. The Mardi Gras breakfast was 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausages, home fries, 6 strips bacon and an English muffin all for $15.50 and more than enough for 2 people. They knocked promptly at 10:30 and the table was set beautifully. The Mardi Gras buffet was also a steal with a BOGO free with crabs and shrimp and every ethnicity you could imagine plus a dessert bar. We had a ball!!
