Room appearance needs updated, I wondered how old the matterases are and how dirty they were! Staff was nice, parking a little inconvenient but ok, wish there was email of room rates sent instead of having to shop around looking for the best deal, also I wish they would offer casino incentives. The breakfast was good. I always check the hotel rates and compare them to other hotel casinos, with the gas bing so high we have been coming down on a bus deal since it was more affordable then driving down and spending the night and took advantage of the bus incentives.

What I liked about my hotel room was the high ceilings. I am tall, so high ceilings make a big difference. The bathroom had older fixtures that were
pink. Very retro looking. The bathroom was clean and maintained. My bed was
a king sized bed. It was very comfortable. My room was a nice, comfortable
size. There was a small table that had chairs to go with it. This table
was a good size to sit down and have a meal on. Two people could stay in this room comfortably. Some of the channels on the TV didn't come in as clear as other channels. The motel offered HBO. This is a big plus when staying at a motel. The carpeting in the room was a little dated, but it was clean and soft. The window opened a little to let in fresh air. The windows had locks on them. The drapes were thick and heavy. When they are closed, they blocked out the sun completely. The view from my room was of the pool. I enjoyed watching people
play in the pool from my window.

There was a pool, which was an outdoor pool. It was huge! There were many lounge chairs surrounding the pool. The water looked very clean. The pool was painted blue, and looked very inviting.

The lobby had a nice seating area with comfortable couches. The staff at the
front desk were friendly. They warmly welcomed me when I arrived at the motel.
The only complaint I have with this motel is the elevator is rather jerky when it stops on the different floors. This motel was located very close to the boardwalk. It is located between the Tropicana and Hilton Casinos.

IT WAS A VERY NICE HOTEL WOULD RECOMMENED TO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS! I HAD ONE PROBLEM I WAS IN THE ROOM AND A LADY TRIED TO GET IN MY ROOM AS SHE HAD THE SAME ROOM AND THEY CORRECTED IT. I WAS SO MAD I CALLED THE FROONT DESK AND ASKED IS THERE GONNA BE ANYONE ELSE THAT TRIES TO WALK IN MY ROOM WHEN IM NOT THERE. AND THERE REPLY WAS NO IT WAS MY FAULT THAT I GAVE SOMEONE ELSE THE KEY TO YOUR ROOM AND IT WONT HAPPEN AGAIN! THE RECEPTIONIST WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND THE MOTEL WAS VERY NICE!!!

This was not my first time staying at the hotel. I made my reservations online with intentions on celebrating my daughter's birthday, and we had no problems once I arrived at the hotel. I found the website to be true to the word as far as the pictures, room layouts, services offered, etc., that were on the website. I travelled with my daughters and they were also pleased with the room, even though as I was booking the room on line, they showed some skeptism but everyone was pleased upon arrival. I found the front desk to be very courteous and the rooms clean. We intend to come back again during the 2007 season, preferably during the spring or summer which will allow us to enjoy the pool and the chance to do some sunbathing. We enjoyed out stay so much, that we plan to make Howard Johnson, Broadwalk out hotel. We were not fortunate to reserve a room when we returned to Atlantic City in June, 2006 which was an oversite on my part for not reserving earlier. I also intend to recommend the Howard Johnson, Broadwalk to my friends that frequent Atlantic City more than I. Being a single mother I would immensly enjoy any discounts that were offered.

I arrived for my very short weekend honeymoon. The hotel was great for the value. The only problem I had was the person at the front desk who wouldn't help me move a date that a person on the phone got wrong when taking my reservation. I said I'd pay the difference, but the associate told me there was nothing he could do and so I had to book and pay for a new reservation. Also another thing that sucks is that I thought every hotel had a honeymoon suit, but we didn't even get a king size bed that I requested, so my newly married husband and I had two beds. Other then that, the hotel is great for the money and the location is not bad either.

The location had good access to the Boardwalk and Casinos on the Ocean. The carpet and furniture were old and threadbare. The nights I stayed there, late at night drunken loud shouting from across the street kept me awake. The good news was that the food we had in the restuarant was excellent and inexpensive. The elevators were slow and not very clean. It was easier to use the steps to the room on the second floor. The people at the hotel were friendly but it was evident that this hotel needed a renovation. It appeared that part of the business and catering area was being renovated. This hotel was not expensive considering it was next to the boardwalk, but you get what you pay for.

This hotel has an excellent outdoor pool which is on the ground floor and visible from most rooms above it. The pool is seasonal only has good maintenance and an attendant. Additional towels are available and there is an area with lounge chairs surrounding it. It is possible to get good lap swims here.
The hotel is aging but has daily maid service and the usual cable tv. There is also a connection provided for internet, which I successfully used.

was very nice hotel needs a little work like maybe ne elevators, and a couple of minor things location was good. staff was very helpful. dining was also very good we were planning to stay at another location but the hotel was in a great location for me with the beach and tropicana next door for my gambling needs. my family really enjoy the pool which we used everyday while we stay there. parking lot was also great park my car and didnt move it for my stay. its also was a nice crowd no trouble or problems with my stay. i would stay there again whae i get a chance. the terrace in the room was also great because i could relax and smoke a cigar with a nice view of the pool. rooms were comfortable the beds were good a not bumpy like some other hotels i have stay in. once again i had a very good time and my family enjoyed it very much looking foward to going back soon as i can. not much more i can say both its was a great stay for a great price and a great time with a great view

My main complaint was that I got two rooms for a group of friends staying for two nights. They would not give me adjoining rooms (told me there were none available) however the couple next door to one of our rooms had the adjoining room to that room and they checked in after us. Fortunately that couple was nice enough to switch with us, although the guy at the front desk was really weird about it. Parking was free and easy and nearby (except they share with the Holiday Inn (and the parking elevator takes your straight to the Holiday Inn Lobby, so you have to walk outside to get to the HOJO lobby)). The elevators were super small, so I would not recommend that the disabled stay there. The pool was ugly and surrounded by buildings but we just walked over and crashed the Tropicana pool on the 6th floor with no problem. No continental breakfast, though that would have been nice. The rooms were very outdated but also very clean. I can say that we could possibly stay there again, it was real close to the Trpoicana and Trump and served out purpose (which was we just needed somewhere to sleep). It was also the cheapest hotel on the boardwalk (and atlanticcity.com had the best rate anywhere we could find). Next time I might try staying at the Holiday Inn next door, just because of the whole parking confusion, but only if it as just as inexpensive.

The hotel is Old and in need of Repair. The hotel smelled of Mildew and anything metal was Rusted. I've never stayed at a hotel where you could actually see the Dirt on the Curtains when you walked into the hotel. The carpet inside of the Elevator is Filthy and Dirty. It actually Smelled when you walked into it. The Pool area looked Dirty and Unsafe. I would not Eat at the Restaurant because of the way the hotel Smelled and Looked. I would not stay at this hotel again or tell anyone about it. This hotel would only be Enjoyed by Young Adults that are in Atlantic City to Drink and Party. They would be the only people who would'nt care about the Horrible condition the hotel is in. The hotel is really worth Remodeling. The location to the Beach and Boardwalk is Great. The only other Good thing about the hotel is the Staff.The Staff was very Friendly and Helpful. The Staff deserves a Raise for having to work in such Horrible conditions.This place really needs alot of work. This would be a Great Vacation spot if only it was'nt so Run Down and Ditry!

HOWARD JOHNSON'S, WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE? WELL FIRST OF ALL I EXPECTED A LITTLE MORE THEN WHAT I GOT AND I GUESS THT IS BECAUSE OF THE NAME. I CHOSE THIS PLACE BECAUSE OF THE PRICE. IT WAS ACTUALLY CHEAPER THAN WHAT MY PREVIOUS STAY AT MOTEL 8 COST FOR THE TIME. IT WAS ALSO ON THE BOARDWALK SO I WAS CLOSE TO THE CASINO'S. THE STAY HERE WAS NOT BAD BUT THIS WOULD NOT BE MY FIRST CHOICE FOR A MODERATELY PRICED HOTEL. I HAD TO PAY FIVE DOLLARS A DAY FOR THE USE OF THE REFRIGERATOR. I DIDN'T LIKE THAT TO MUCH.

The only way I would stay at this location again is if I had no other place to stay. The carpets were extremely old and smelly. For the rate that we paid they should really invest in updating the hotel. Every thing is outdated. The door to the room would not close properly and the elevator did not look safe. The only good thing about this location is that it is right off the boardwalk so we were able to access the casinos and restaurants easily. The front desk person was very nice and helped us as soon as we arrived.

Expecting the rate for a Saturday night to be higher, we were shocked at the $240 or so we spent on this location. I would have preferred to pay less and be a few miles out of town or spend the extra $100 and be in a large casino. The room was clean but outdated. There was NO parking available in the garage. We had to park along side a wall and pray our new car was not damaged overnight. There were no amenities - pool, jacuzzi or anything else. The only good part was the front desk staff which was quick and efficient. We found out that the same room is $49 mid week. That is still pushing it price-wise. We were quite dissapointed.

I would love tos stay here again! Great price and friendly people! My boyfirnd and i dont get to get away to offten and we dont always have a lot of money but we would like to get away at least once a month and just go crazy and blow every cent we got. i recently turned 21 and this hotel was the first one i stayed at. i must say everyone was extremely friendly and the room met our needs. the food was delicious and the bathroom and sheets were clean. ( very important to me!) I will be staying here again! Thank You.

Requested a double bed room. Online said it was available but when we got there it wasnt. Which was fine because we were told we would receive a cot. Cot never came, called desk about 5 different times. Then went down there and was told we could not get a cot. Then they couldnt even give us blankets or an extra pillow and there were three of us. Instead they handed us towels and told us to fold it up as a pillow and use the towels as blankets. That didnt work out very well. We were more than nice when we asked for all this and we didnt even ask for the cot in the first place. The woman at the front desk told us she would give us one since we requested a room that they no longer had.
