I booked a room at Bally's online and at check in was given a room at the Claridge. I do not think the room was worth the amount of money I paid and I was not happy that the total amount was charged to my credit card even before checking in. I was under the impression that the credit card was to hold the room. I decided after to pay with a different card and was unable to. This has never occurred at other hotels in Atlantic City

The hotel couldn't find one of my two reservations. They made me pay for the second room again even though it was prepaid. I had to call central reservations afterwards and they located the second reservation and said I would be credited. I'll have to wait for my credit card statement before I can confirm that it's taken care of. What a pain!!
The non-smoking room smelled like a smoking room. They did clean the air for us but that only lasted afew hours and the room smelled again.
When I made the reservation I made it for Bally but we ended up at Claridge. The front desk informed me that I couldn't have a room at the Bally towers because the rate would be higher. What a scam! They shouldn't advertise Bally when they put you at Claridge. I'll know better next time.
My experience at the front desk was extremely unpleasant and stressful. I felt like a sitting duck and had to do what they say or we'll be out of a place to stay. While they were locating my reservations,which took forever, they threaten to tow my car away. Explain to me how a person can check in fast when the front desk is so incompetent.

Well to start off the bathroom tub was dirty (it had hair in it), the cable was very fuzzy,and the card did not work well in the elevator. I stayed at a hotel last year for cheaper and it was cleaner , bigger room, and had no problem getting to my room in the elevator. People who were in the elevator with us were having problems too. It was hard to find the waitresses to get a drink.

I booked what I thought was a premium room. It might be by AC standards. But much smaller than most 2 star locations I've stayed, in the past. Bath towels and coffee packets were not replaced during my two day stay. No big deal but disappointing for the price of the room. Other than than thing were OK in general.
The lounge was pleasant, with attentive staff. The location was very good, just about center of the Boardwalk. Overall I'd rate my stay 2 of 5

Hotel did not have the room I requested, the price for the room on the week-end was a little pricey for the size. The hotel does not give good directions to the outside pool area. Outside pool was small and the lounge chairs were to close together. Boardwalk was nice, would have liked to have the beach bar opened later at night. The show "Ain't nothing like the Real Thing" was wonderful and everyone should see it, request a booth because the seating is to crowded.

Ceiling leaked directly over bed. Lucky we were not electrocuted. Took speaking to hotel manager to get into a safe room which was much poorer that the one we first had. Said it was a suite but it was not and lacked items in first room. Not happy.
In restaurant thought I would have to go to the Casino floor to get coffee with meal. Waiter said they were so use to serving drinks that coffee was a small problem. After three attempts and two people finally got a cup of coffee. Not happy.

The room was situated right next to the elevators.It was constantly noisy.Also,the walls were paper thin.It sounded like the people in the adjacent room were actually in our room.Upon leaving,it was almost impossible to get an elevator to take our luggage downstairs.(this was the Claridge hotel on the 14th floor).Never again!When we complained to the manager,he was only able to give us a forty dollar coupon for lunch because we didn't purchase th tickets through the hotel.

We thought we had booked at Bally's and then ended up getting the "Claridge Tower" where the rooms were not as nice as we had expected. Also the Bally's pool with whirlpools that we had been looking forward to is actually an additional cost of $10/person. The smaller, less fancy Claridge pool is free. The staff at the front desk were very rude and did not make us feel like valued guests in any way. We had to switch rooms, as our first room had some spiders on the beds. We weren't given any kind of compensation for the inconvenience.

Arriving at the hotel was difficult with a long line to check in. There are different sections to the hotel as they have purchased adjacent properties and renamed them all Ballys. We got a room assignment in the Claridge (or something like that). This part of the hotel is very old. There were five elevators and yet we had long waits to get one. You need to be very fast to get to the elevator as the door doesn't remain open very long. The room was old and the bathroom was very small. The sheets were like sandpaper and the carpets were dirty. The casino bar was dirty as was the casino in general. In the smoking sections of the casino, there were cigarette butts that people just extinguished on the wood next to slot machines without even an ashtray! The people who work there are friendly and helpful. The "Ain't nothing like the real thing" Motown musical show was very good as was the Italian restaurant. There were all kinds of people in the casino. The beach bar is kind of nice if you like to hanging out, getting a drink and a snack. The rooms in the newer sections of the hotel may be better but we never got to see them. If you do not mind kind of dirty, dumpy casino with lots of action, then it is worth it. If you are looking for a more upscale, clean, facility - don't go there.

I thought I would have a room in Ballys Park Place or even Wild West, instead I had to stay in the Claridge which is now part of Ballys. But the rooms and the hotel layout is still the old Claridge and never my preference for hotels in Atlantic City. Had I know ahead of time that I would be given a room there I would not have booked with Bally. Now I am very specific when booking by requesting only Bally Towers.

First we reserved in Jan.07 and when we got there instead of beeing in the Bally's like we wanted we were in the Claridge (realy no good)thenn we went to see the person at the desk and she was rude saying we should have looked at the small prints sayiing we should have got there at 10 AM but we have 9 hours of traveling to do soo it is hard to do.The only good point is the security people who were very nice to awnser your questions.Too bad nest time Ceasar or Trump.Thanks again for asking hope you do someting about it.Would have love to stay at the Bally's in the tower.

The problem was, I wasn't put in the Bally's tower rooms -- I was in the "Claridge" which is run by Bally's.
I'm assuming the Bally's rooms would've been just fine, but the room I was in at the Claridge was less than desirable. Here were some of the problems:
1. The thermostat switch for Heat/Cool was broken off and I had to take the cover off just to set the temperature.
2. The built in wall hair dryer wouldn't stay latched and was wedged in place with a piece of cardboard -- if you touched it at all it would fall off and the hair dryer would turn on -- very dangerous since I was gone most of the day and it could've fallen off and turned on while I wasn't there. I called in the problem and the said they would have some come and fix it right away -- never happened.
3. I was supposed to be in a smoking room (as per my intenerary) and they originally put me in a non-smoking room and it took over an hour for them to get me into a smoking room -- bad service.
4. The tissue box was very damaged and the room appearance seemed generally under kept.
So, I thought I was going to be staying in a Bally's room and instead they "bait and swithced" me to their connected Claridge hotel which in my opinion was sub-par.
Not happy and not impressed.

The queue for checking in was too long. We spent almost 2 hours in the queue waiting to be checked in. We were quite annoyed especially after sitting on a bus for almost two hours. We were really excited and looking forward to having a good time but the long wait left us disappointed and put a damper on things. The room was much smaller than expected but the view of the water made up for that. The rate of the room was reasonable for a Friday night. We were overly impressed by the Blue Martini Club and Johnny Rockets.

The room was nice and clean with lots of room to relax. At check in there was only two agents to check in none diamond club card holders which made for a long wait. At least twenty people in line and four agents sitting waiting for card members. Things got worse when we tried to go to bed there was alot of noise on our floor. We called security which came up and silenced them till security left and it started right back up and continued till 5 am. We did not get much sleep which kind of ruined our following day.
