The Stuff of Legends

Whether it is Philip Bailey’s iconic falsetto, or the dozens of world-famous songs that still get us tapping our feet to the music year in and year out, Earth, Wind, and Fire has solidified itself as one of the most influential and enduring groups in musical history. Like many of the great bands of the 60s and 70s, they and their fans have only become better with age, and time has not slowed down this trio of talented musicians. The group was founded in 1969 in Chicago and went on to monumental fame as the premiere funk and R&B group of the 1970s. They have released 20 albums, have been nominated for 20 Grammy Awards, and have won six of them. Although the group has contained other members throughout the year, the core trio of Verdine White, Philip Bailey, and Ralph Johnson are now the representative face of this classic band.

They have received almost every honor that a musical group can, including being inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, having two of their songs inducted into the Grammy Song Hall of Fame, being awarded a spot in the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and even getting a star on the Hollywood Boulevard. On top of that, they have sold over 90 million albums around the world. Their fans have had to wait 8 years for a new album, but it promises to be worth the anticipation, as ten new tracks were debuted on their newest record, entitled “Now, Then, and Forever”. It is their 20th studio album. Here is the group singing one of their most famous tunes, “September” at a concert last year.

Always More Time to Fall in Love

For those fans that have been around since Earth, Wind, and Fire’s early years, or for the entire new generation that has come to love their songs and high-energy performances, there is still time to experience the excitement and passion of this unforgettable group. They are embarking on yet another tour, showing that as long as they have air in their lungs and a song on their lips, they won’t let their fans down. This tour stretches from coast to coast in the States, and even pops over the pond to London and Manchester for some international dates. So, if you find yourself in Atlantic City in late September (what a fitting month for this group!), then don’t miss Earth, Wind, and Fire at the Borgata Events Center in Atlantic City on September 27th and 28th at 8pm. Tickets are on sale now, and since your feet will probably be tired from dancing the night away, choose one of the world-class Atlantic City Hotels to rest your head for the weekend! Booking a room at The Borgata would be the most convenient!

If, for some reason, one of the most famous bands in history doesn’t spark your interest, then check out one of the other shows in town, like Liza Minnelli at Caesars Atlantic City, or the Beach boys at the Borgata Music Box, both of which are on September 28th!
