Atlantic City Gearing Up As The Economy Revamps

Atlantic City, located in New Jersey, is famous for its boardwalk, casino gambling rooms, lovely beaches, shopping centers, retail shops, and breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean. For these things, it is no wonder why people cannot stop visiting and pampering themselves at resorts to enjoy the pleasure this city provides. It home to three large malls for tourists, with various types of convenient transportation and the second best destination of professional gamblers.

Atlantic City is one of the most visited cities in the entire U.S. for entertainment and business purposes. Although the global recession has greatly affected the economy of Atlantic City in some ways, the place is still kicking and thriving. Although 11 of the city’s finest casinos have been experiencing an economic failure which includes Donald Trump’s Taj Mahal Casino & Resort and the Tropicana Casino & Resort, the country’s number two gambling destination is rising not due to bankruptcy but for continuous competitive business production.
Yes, you can still find all the extraordinary gambling venues. You can still indulge in luxury hotel rooms, soak in the sunset-view spas, have a taste of exclusive restaurants and the non-stop entertaining theater shows. People are obviously visible walking around the stylish walls and on brilliant floors of the casinos. Employees are busy taking care of luggage and stuff of their customers. Elite women and tuxedo dressed men are edging on hot seats of the casino.  Atlantic City has many delightful surprises to give its visitors.

One of the vice presidents of an extravagant hotel-casino said that there are more visitors and newcomers arriving each day. The number of tickets had enormously increased for viewing  some treasured music of great legends and that’s another reason why there are more shows produced throughout the city which shows that tourism is on the rise in Atlantic city.

Summer is the most popular get-away time for gamblers plus new players and site seers, however many of them visit throughout the entire year as well. During summer, live music shows appeal to many people. Who would ignore American Idols and worldly known pop stars like Kris Allen, Jimmy Buffet, Madonna, and more that are entertaining just a few feet away from your seat? Of course, you will have to run and get the VIP seat area. This is an ideal long weekend getaway destination that will amaze any individual. With so much to do and see it is a place you will keep you returning when you want to escape, relax and have fun.

Resorts, whatever the season, are still flooded by thousands of tourists, and you will find that the Hawaiian and Polynesian services are out of this world. One difference though is that the entertainment has changed in casino rooms. It is now held in a lovely area, which is known as the Boardwalk Hall.

There are several entertaining shows and offers, that are expected to come out this 2010. Bon Jovi is possibly going to come back for tour of his new released CD last November 2008. More new live entertainment shows will be produced for your pleasure. Planned new modernized facilities are already under construction with many new up and coming sites to see. In short, people are very much looking forward to the newly revived delights of Atlantic City. Book a getaway to see for yourself!

If you are in the mood to be really close to the beach, you can’t get much closer than the Bikini Beach Bar at Bally’s. This bar is known for its live band and for its proximity to the water and you will find that though the food here is your basic bar food, it is plentiful and pretty tasty. Look for the Old Bay fries and the shrimp, and make sure that you stay long enough for the cocktails. There are many different theme nights that you can take advantage of when you are looking at the Bikini Beach Bar at Bally’s, so keep a look out for things like Latin Mondays and ’80s Wednesdays. Walk With Dinosaurs This September At Atlantic City!

Mankind has always been curious about the history of the world, and with recent developments in archeology, more and more has become abundantly clear. What we have found is proof that a species dominated the earth longer than humans ever drew breath, and that species is dinosaur. This was a ferocious and terrifying species that ruled not through diplomacy and trade, but in some cases through fear and primal instinct. We are mystified by these species and we have done all that we can to learn more about them.

No doubt you have at some point seen the plethora of movies that have been made about dinosaurs. From time travelers in a bad movie, to a modern day tale of genetic experiments on an island in the middle of nowhere, dinosaurs have been a subject of both fascination and excitement for the young and old for many years and so far there is no evidence that is going to change any time soon. For this reason it was inevitable that dinosaurs would suddenly break onto the big screen.

Recently a total of ten million pounds was spent on an arena presentation of the cretaceous period in all it’s glory. This is presented to the public in an arena setting, meaning that the show will be displayed in a huge screen for your viewing pleasure. If you are a fan of dinosaurs or ever have been in the past then this will be a great experience for you to become closely acquainted with your favorite lizards from ages past.

You can experience this event from July all the way to august, so get ready to buy your tickets and take a trip into the past that you never would have thought possible. If this sounds like something that would interest you then you are quite in luck as you can find all the information you need regarding attending the shows online either at it’s official website or on the website of one of their many affiliates. This happens to be a huge event so you will no doubt be able to find someone that has decided to cover it!

Whether you are young or old, big or small, you will enjoy this presentation as it drags you through the creation of dinosaurs all the way to their humble end. No matter who you are, this is the show for you. So head online, or call your local box office for showtimes and prices. This is definitely one show you’re not going to want to miss.

If you do happen to miss one showing don’t be incredibly discouraged because chances are you will catch the next one! Not to mention it’s showing at many different places, so you aren’t going to experience overcrowding regardless of how popular the show happens to be. Just keep an eye out for showtimes and you’ll be able to get in on it in no time!

Not all is lost at Atlantic City - The Beginning of the Bounce Back

There is talk about recession and slump everywhere in Atlantic City, and for that matter, most places in the continental United States. Hey hey, take a break though. Most of us that have been around for a while, know that this kind of slump happens every once in a while due to certain issues. We all saw the dot com bust in the early 2000’s. Many of us still remember the slump of the late 80’s and the real estate breakdown in the early 90’s. We always recover and we will, this time as well. It’s only a question of how soon. And the more positive we stay as Atlantic City residents, the sooner we will get out of it. We can do it together and we will!

There are some pretty good news out there that noone seems to focus on. PressofAtlantcCity.com reported recently:

Boardwalk Hall improved from being the No. 1 venue of its size - between 10,001 and 15,000 seats - in North American last year to being the top venue of its size in the world this year, according to Billboard magazine. Sold-out shows during the past year included Jay-Z, Celine Dion, Madonna, Carrie Underwood with Keith Urban and the most heavily attended concert since the renovated hall reopened in 2001, 14,591 people at the Jimmy Buffet concert in August.

That is no small thing in my opinion. That was a historic achievement and we should all celebrate it. Shows during the New Year’s eve were all jam packed and sold out. That is signs that people are perhaps over-reacting to the recession story this time. Many got away Scot-free during the real estate melt-down and those people still continue to spend. Many businesses are actually using the recession to their advantage and actively marketing their products to the market while their competitors are holding back.

NBC reported recently:

A newly formed coalition has found a way to attract new markets and visitors- by air. The South Jersey Transportation Authority is pumping millions of dollars into expansion and airport improvements all in an effort to make Atlantic City a destination resort.

While some airports around the United States are pulling flights and decreasing service due to the recession, Atlantic City International Airport is doing just the opposite. “Out of catastrophe walks opportunity so there’s some good opportunity for ACY and all the stake holders,” said Executive Director of the South Jersey Transportation Authority, Bart Mueller.

I recently read this report that had a whole bunch of rescission tips and tricks for small businesses that I thought I should share with the rest of you in one of our next posts.

Trump may seek expansion of the Atlantic City casinos

Donald Trump was rumored to be mulling ways to get rid of his struggling Atlantic City casino business. But the only indications to have come from the Trump empire  are that in addition to selling one of its lowest performing casinos, Trump is currently seeking an expansion of the slot joints. Trump with his usual flair and style, announced that they would be selling off their lowest performer, Trump Marina Hotel Casino, to Coastal Marina LLC, a New York gambling company, for $316 million. Trump seems to see profit in these casinos despite losses faced by him on that front. It is only natural for him to see that there may be a bigger picture than the one painted by the cash machines of Atlantic City so far. With change, money may finally start to chime in the casinos of Atlantic City.

Atlantic City Finally Goes Upscale and Luxurious

Recently, Atlantic City once again has been able to become one of those luxurious cities that everyone wants to visit. Despite general economic slowdown at the city, the number of luxury and upscale outlets have been on the rise. For many people, when they think of luxury and wealth, Atlantic City usually does not come to mind; however, with recent additions in the past few years, Atlantic City has been able to get back on the luxury path.

One of the biggest additions to Atlantic City is the Borgata Hotel, or should it be called the Borgata Hotel, Casino, Spa, Shopping Center, Restaurant, Bar and Club! Whichever way you look at it, the Borgata Hotel has risen to the status of one of the biggest luxury attractions in Atlantic City. The Borgoaa Hotel was built in 2003 and is the most recent hotel addition to Atlantic City. In fact, it is the first in thirteen years. The hotel provides 2,000 rooms and was specifically designed to become a rival of the popular hotels in cities such as Las Vegas and NYC. The hotel has a casino, thirteen restaurants, an event center, a club, a bar, a spa, and eleven stores to purchase clothing and accessories. The Borgata Hotel also plans to add a water club. The Borgata has definitely brought luxury back to a city that seemed to be growing duller and duller with the passage of time.

Another hotel that has brought renown and popularity to Atlantic City among the luxury-travelers is the Trump Taj Mahal. It offers all kinds of suites such as penthouse suites and lanai suites that are sure to fit even the most luxurious people. The Taj Mahal has restaurants, a casino, and a spa. The luxury spa at the Taj Mahal is one of the best around, a close rival to the Bally’s spa. The spa at the hotel offers seaweed wraps, deep tissue massages, aromatherapy, and other types of health and fitness services.

The one other hotel that comes to mind when thinking luxury at Atlantic City is the Bally’s hotel. Bally’s is a four-star hotel that towers over the Boardwalk. The hotel has a casino, a spa, 1240 rooms, an indoor pool and Jacuzzi, VIP indoor parking, VIP valet service, upscale places to shop, a large 18-hole golf course, an aerobic studio, sixteen restaurants, four of them which focus on the culture and cuisine of the American West, while the other twelve are gourmet restaurants. Bally’s also offers live entertainment venues as well as poker tournaments. That’s a lot, even by casino standards!

With the rise of luxury in Atlantic City, it is sure to be able to cast off its shell of dullness that had started to form over the last decade. This new surge will hopefully help the city move past the recent nationwide economic slowdown. Traditionally, Atlantic City has always lagged behind its closest cousins Las Vegas and New York City. Hotels like the Borgata and the Taj Mahal are closing this gap and providing a much-needed new look to the City. Check them out on your next trip!
