Atlantic City, located in New Jersey, is famous for its boardwalk, casino gambling rooms, lovely beaches, shopping centers, retail shops, and breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean. You can still indulge in luxury hotel rooms, soak in the sunset-view spas, have a taste of exclusive restaurants and the non-stop entertaining theater shows. People are obviously visible walking around the stylish walls and on brilliant floors of the casinos. Employees are busy taking care of luggage and stuff of their customers. Elite women and tuxedo dressed men are edging on hot seats of the casino.  Atlantic City has many delightful surprises to give its visitors.

One of the vice presidents of an extravagant hotel-casino said that there are more visitors and newcomers arriving each day. The number of tickets had enormously increased for viewing  some treasured music of great legends and that’s another reason why there are more shows produced throughout the city which shows that tourism is on the rise in Atlantic city.

Summer is the most popular get-away time for gamblers plus new players and site seers, however many of them visit throughout the entire year as well. During summer, live music shows appeal to many people. Who would ignore American Idols and worldly known pop stars like Kris Allen, Jimmy Buffet, Madonna, and more that are entertaining just a few feet away from your seat? Of course, you will have to run and get the VIP seat area. This is an ideal long weekend getaway destination that will amaze any individual. With so much to do and see it is a place you will keep you returning when you want to escape, relax and have fun.

Resorts, whatever the season, are still flooded by thousands of tourists, and you will find that the Hawaiian and Polynesian services are out of this world. One difference though is that the entertainment has changed in casino rooms. It is now held in a lovely area, which is known as the Boardwalk Hall.

For the past 30 years, the Atlantic City casino experience revolved around, for the most part, sand, seagulls and the Boardwalk. On contemptuous antagonism with Pennsylvania and New York slots , in an effort to continue to exist and thrive, Atlantic City is considering intensifying casino gambling into spots that were never foresee when gambling was approved here in the 1970s. Creativity and innovation were how gambling became a mainstay in the United States , starting with the growth of Las Vegas casino Resorts in the middle of nowhere in Nevada. You never know, casinos can thrive in areas that may appear remote and unattractive.
On approval from the City Council, the gambling hall would be built by Penn National Gaming in the proposed area known best for traffic jams and sewage smells which is about a mile from the Boardwalk on the site of a former oil depot. Residents of the nearby Venice Park neighborhood voiced a commonly heard complaint about the likelihood of the traffic problem to escalate even further, but they are aware that this move would brng badly needed jobs to Atlantic City. The attorney for Penn National expressed in a statement that concerns about traffic will be addressed well before opening. Residents are questioning the choice of the location. With plenty of other vacant sites within existing casino zones still available, why would the new project be proposed in area which is very close to a residential neighborhood? Nobody really knows the answer to that question, except that the cost of land and the availability of labor at close quarters could have played into the decision.
Atlantic City today has 11 Resort-Casinos, including ones by Borgata, Trump, Hilton and Tropicana. Out-of-state competition forced Atlantic City to remake itself and focus on more affluent gamblers who also demand luxury hotels, top restaurants and A-list of entertainment. But the City and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority decided to open the Bader bidding up to any interested parties in hopes of getting the highest price and best plans for the site. Many newspapers and postcards have described the Atlantic City’s Air Show over the years. Since 2003, the annual Air Show has been held over the Atlantic City Boardwalk every August. In the early history of aviation, Atlantic City played a major role. The meets were organized on the sea shore. This year as well, Leading aviators took part in the event and made the day very colourful and exciting. Did you know that Atlantic City’s Air Show is the largest beach front air show in the world?

Atlantic City’s sixth annual Air Show was sponsored and organized by the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa and was held on August 20, 2008. This year’s event was called “Thunder over the Boardwalk”, quite appropriately so, since the noise from the low altitude of high-speed aircraft manoeuvres deafens the Boardwalk at times. The events like manoeuvres, formation flying and solo routines of military and civilian pilots have made the Air Show a very popular event at Atlantic City that people travel from far and near to attend. This week usually sees close to a 15% surge in visitors to Atlantic City, a much needed spike amidst the economic slowdown that has kept matters rather calm at Atlantic City this year. Many people grabbed spots on the beach Tuesday afternoon to catch a glimpse of pilots flying high. Around four hundred thousand spectators were gathered on the Beach and Boardwalk of Atlantic City for the show.

The entire show was broadcast on WOND 1400 AM radio and was enlightening for the crowd as information about the pilots and the planes and their performances was read out to them. This year’s show included the U.S. Navy’s F-18 Super Hornets, the F-16 CJ Vipers from the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Army’s Golden Knights Parachute Team and the U.S. Coast Guard search and rescue demonstrations. The world’s most talented pilots took part in this event and flew up to 15,000 feet and as low as 50 feet over the ocean.

The crowd really enjoyed the stunts. There isn’t very many casino towns that can boast of an ocean-front and even fewer that host an Air Show. If you were at the party on the beach, you witnessed a very unique event. One of those thousands of little things that keep us in love with Atlantic City for over 15 years now !
