Lady Gaga Cancels

Lady Gaga canceled her appearance at the hotel with just 24 hours notice.

Gaga’s camp claimed she was fighting exhaustion and dehydration late Thursday night when they pulled her gig at Purdue University in Indiana (where her two opening acts had performed before there was word she wouldn’t be coming on). They used the same excuse the next day for Gaga’s New Jersey show but — no shocker here — the singer was well enough to appear live on “Oprah” that very afternoon.

“This is what happens when spoiled rich girls become entertainers,” one disgruntled fan wrote on her official Web site. “They don’t care about anything but themselves.”

Atlantic City has most definitely been home to a great many musical acts and spectacles but few are as exciting as the upcoming event featuring the “Dynamic Duo” of Lady Gaga and Jason Derulo. This is certainly going to be one of the most - pardon the pun - dynamic events to hit the city in a long time. Those that love a diverse spectacle of music will definitely find it appealing.

Again, these are acts you will not want to miss.

Lady Gaga is known for her glam rock look that is a modernized version of the trend made famous in the 1970s. This is, by no means, an indication that her music is derivative. Quite the contrary, she brings a unique and brilliant sound to the event that fans will surely never forget. She is coming off a very successful world tour and a commercially strong selling CD. This will definitely translate into enthusiasm when she appears live on stage.

Jason Derulo has been a successful songwriter and he is now branching out in the music world with his own singing performance. Seeing him live on stage will certainly prove to be an unforgettable experience.

Kid Cudi’s supporting stint on Lady Gaga’s “Monster Ball” tour though has come to an end. The “Day ‘N’ Nite” rapper announced that he is pulling out of the tour due to time conflicts. In a statement released on Wednesday (Dec. 16), he explained his departure. “Kid Cudi has decided to take an early leave of absence from Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour, in order to balance his schedule surrounding the recording of his next album and acting commitments. Cudi does not want to disappoint his fans and will move forward with his individual show dates in December and throughout the month of January.”

The show will take place at the Borgata Event Center in Atlantic City on the Saturday evening of January 16, 2010.This event is going to be a huge hit, after being sold out in a record time of 10 minutes, people hardly doubt it. The show will start promptly at 8pm so don’t be late or you may miss out!

Mariah Carey Jan 2 Concert Was Absolutely Incredible!

Mariah Carey is one of the best selling female artists of all time. This sexy diva is known for her sultry and dynamic vocal stylings. She is a five time Grammy Award winning artist and has the most number-one hits in the United States as a solo artist. Mariah collaborated with some of the hottest names in the music industry that include the likes of Jay Z, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Jermaine Dupri, Kanye West, The Neptunes, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Not only is she a singer, but a writer and producer as well. Not that Ms. Carey is back on top of the music world, her concert during the week of January 2nd at Borgata was the most incredible so far. When she stood there and began singing the interlude to Daydream, that’s when the crowd knew it was in for a treat!

Mariah Carey was born and raised in Huntington, Long Island, New York. Music had a large influence on Mariah at an early age. She would listen to her mother practicing opera and soon began to imitate her. She began singing at the age of three and throughout her early teens would find herself skipping school to focus on music. After graduation from high school, she moved to New York City working part-time jobs to pay the rent. In 1998, Mariah finally got her big break when she met Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola. Mottola listened to a demo of Mariah’s work and soon signed her to a recording contract.

Mariah’s early success came with the release of her self titled debut album, where she co-wrote many of the tracks. Her debut album was a huge commercial success as it yielded four number-one singles and made Mariah an over night star in the United States. As the success of the debut album continued, Mariah would win Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Mariah’s career continued to roll and she received Billboard’s Artist of the Decade Award. Soon after, Mariah would depart from Columbia Records and sign with Virgin where she would sign a contract worth a reported $80 million. It was during this time that Mariah’s career would begin to take a turn in the opposite direction. She would find herself checking into a hospital suffering from an emotional and physical breakdown. Also during this time, Mariah would be panned by critics for her role in Glitter and the accompanying soundtrack of the same name.

Carey’s career was resurrected in 2005 with her tenth studio album release, The Emancipation of Mimi. Mimi was critically acclaimed and garnered Carey three Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary R&B Album, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and Best R&B Song.

The diva was back and her career was skyrocketing her to a new level of fame. Mariah began The Adventures of Mimi Tour, which was the most successful tour of the career to date. Her personal life would also begin to shine as she met and married Nick Cannon. According to Mariah, she has never been more at ease with herself or more fulfilled in her life than she does at this point in her life.

Mariah’s latest album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, has already earned praise from critics and fans alike. Mariah would also receive much praise for her role in the critically acclaimed film, Precious. Mariah’s new tour features the diva at her best. Coming down from the ceiling on a swing with a beige dress she yet again proved that she is one of  the most beautiful, talented performer of all time, Mariah Carey!

Your Stevie Wonders Wishes Just Got Answered, Catch Him Live At Borgata!

Nothing this year made me so full of anticipation as the rumors of the legendary Stevie Wonder planning a long awaited (12 years to be precise) tour of the US, and nobody heard me squeal so profusely when I discovered those rumors were in actual fact - FACT!

For the millions of you who shared my delight, his tour which began in August has been a revelation. It was no wonder then that tickets were being sold at an alarming rate and I was somewhat (extremely) disappointed when I missed out. The good news is, ladies and gentleman, its not too late to be the bearer of a ‘golden ticket’. Sir Stevie Wonder has extended his tour and for those who missed out the first time round, tickets are now available to see our beloved icon in locations such as the Borgata Center in Atlantic City. As of October the 25th, Stevie will be giving us some live events throughout the east.

My ticket for the Borgata Center is in a safe place until the 27th of October arrives - the big day. After weeks of frustration, all my wishes came true with the announcement of the added dates. I am in no doubt that these tickets will soon be sold out too, so if your thinking about it, don’t! better not waste the time, just act on it. Come and join me boogieing on down to the likes of “Superstition”, “Higher Ground” and some of his later works; “So What the Fuss” and “Shelter in the Rain”.

So what made Stevie decide to tour after 12 years? Delighted as I was, I thought it was a little out of the blue. It has been reported that his inspiration came from the recent death of his mother, Lula Mae Hardaway. She is also the muse of his upcoming album “The Gospel Inspired by Lula”, to be released in January next year, coinciding with her birthday.

Stevie’s last studio album was titled “A Time to Love”. Emerging in 2005 and reaching number 5 in the Billboard 200, it was and still is a perfect blend of anthems and laid-back R&B/Soul. In a time when a lot of R&B is about drugs, money, or infidelity, Wonder’s lyrics offer us the innocence and simplicity of early Motown. A refreshing change I might add. After playing the album on repeat, for what seems like an eternity, I am more than a little excited to hear and see them live on stage.

I can’t comprehend for what might have been if I never bought my ticket for the Borgata. To me and to many others who have walked the globe since Stevie’s existence, the acceptance that this guy is a genius is just the beginning. I still find myself full of admiration for a man who is fully blind, but brimming with life and musical ambition. Everything that he’s recorded bares the tone of his jubilant positivity. He has taught us so much on issues of racial, social and spiritual context.

Stevie Wonder shares a love of music like I do and when I listen to him I feel on top of the world. No exaggeration. I can’t wait to see him later this month…Can you?

Catch him live at the Borgata Center, Atlantic City, 26th-27th October.

Atlantic City Gearing Up As The Economy Revamps

Atlantic City, located in New Jersey, is famous for its boardwalk, casino gambling rooms, lovely beaches, shopping centers, retail shops, and breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean. For these things, it is no wonder why people cannot stop visiting and pampering themselves at resorts to enjoy the pleasure this city provides. It home to three large malls for tourists, with various types of convenient transportation and the second best destination of professional gamblers.

Atlantic City is one of the most visited cities in the entire U.S. for entertainment and business purposes. Although the global recession has greatly affected the economy of Atlantic City in some ways, the place is still kicking and thriving. Although 11 of the city’s finest casinos have been experiencing an economic failure which includes Donald Trump’s Taj Mahal Casino & Resort and the Tropicana Casino & Resort, the country’s number two gambling destination is rising not due to bankruptcy but for continuous competitive business production.
Yes, you can still find all the extraordinary gambling venues. You can still indulge in luxury hotel rooms, soak in the sunset-view spas, have a taste of exclusive restaurants and the non-stop entertaining theater shows. People are obviously visible walking around the stylish walls and on brilliant floors of the casinos. Employees are busy taking care of luggage and stuff of their customers. Elite women and tuxedo dressed men are edging on hot seats of the casino.  Atlantic City has many delightful surprises to give its visitors.

One of the vice presidents of an extravagant hotel-casino said that there are more visitors and newcomers arriving each day. The number of tickets had enormously increased for viewing  some treasured music of great legends and that’s another reason why there are more shows produced throughout the city which shows that tourism is on the rise in Atlantic city.

Summer is the most popular get-away time for gamblers plus new players and site seers, however many of them visit throughout the entire year as well. During summer, live music shows appeal to many people. Who would ignore American Idols and worldly known pop stars like Kris Allen, Jimmy Buffet, Madonna, and more that are entertaining just a few feet away from your seat? Of course, you will have to run and get the VIP seat area. This is an ideal long weekend getaway destination that will amaze any individual. With so much to do and see it is a place you will keep you returning when you want to escape, relax and have fun.

Resorts, whatever the season, are still flooded by thousands of tourists, and you will find that the Hawaiian and Polynesian services are out of this world. One difference though is that the entertainment has changed in casino rooms. It is now held in a lovely area, which is known as the Boardwalk Hall.

There are several entertaining shows and offers, that are expected to come out this 2010. Bon Jovi is possibly going to come back for tour of his new released CD last November 2008. More new live entertainment shows will be produced for your pleasure. Planned new modernized facilities are already under construction with many new up and coming sites to see. In short, people are very much looking forward to the newly revived delights of Atlantic City. Book a getaway to see for yourself!

Its a Robin Williams Evening At Borgata Event Center In November

In the 1970s, there were four men who were the absolute top draws of the stand up comedy industry. They were Richard Pryor, Redd Fox, George Carlin, and Robin Williams. Of these four, many people have seemingly forgotten how big of a star Williams was on the standup circuit. Well, those that have forgotten saw their memories jolted when it was revealed he would appear once again on stage at The Borgata Hotel and Spa in Atlantic City, NJ on November 27th and 28th. This is truly a historic event as Williams rarely makes live concert appearances and for over two decades did no live shows at all.

Robin Williams’ career has spawned more years than many realize. Long before he was a star on the 1970s/1980s sitcom MORK AND MINDY, he had been a successful standup comic. Williams achieved great fame through the sale of scores of LP albums that featured his ribald nightclub act. Upon becoming an even bigger star thanks to his television exposure as well as his starring roles in mildly successful films such as POPEYE (1980) and THE WORLD ACCORDING TO GARP (1983), Williams’ standup career became even more popular with audiences. His appearances on a number of HBO comedy specials were well received and they spawned several popular VHS video releases.

However, when Williams’ movie career took off, his appearances at standup comedy shows declined. In time, the classic golden age of 1970s standup comedy slowly declined in popularity. As such, stars such as Williams moved beyond the stage and settled into big screen success.

For whatever reason, Williams opted to return to the stand up stage after a two decade plus absence. His appearance on Broadway was well received and it led to greater demand for a new standup act. Robin Williams has complied with the wishes of his fans and has developed ribald new material that shows he has most definitely not lost his knack for being able to entertain crowds. In fact, some say that his new material is among his best ever. This is somewhat amazing because you would assume he would have lost a step or two after his long absence. Actually, the opposite is true. His new material is more mature and less manic. It also shows that he never lost the creative gift that he once had for making an audience laugh. That is why Williams’ return to the stage is looked forward to with such passion.

Ticket prices range from $199 - $291 and the intimate setting of the Borgata’s theater ensures you will have a clear view of the performance. This is a very rare live appearance by a legendary entertainment superstar. It may even be one of his final tours. So don’t miss it!

Walk With Dinosaurs This September At Atlantic City!

Mankind has always been curious about the history of the world, and with recent developments in archeology, more and more has become abundantly clear. What we have found is proof that a species dominated the earth longer than humans ever drew breath, and that species is dinosaur. This was a ferocious and terrifying species that ruled not through diplomacy and trade, but in some cases through fear and primal instinct. We are mystified by these species and we have done all that we can to learn more about them.

No doubt you have at some point seen the plethora of movies that have been made about dinosaurs. From time travelers in a bad movie, to a modern day tale of genetic experiments on an island in the middle of nowhere, dinosaurs have been a subject of both fascination and excitement for the young and old for many years and so far there is no evidence that is going to change any time soon. For this reason it was inevitable that dinosaurs would suddenly break onto the big screen.

Recently a total of ten million pounds was spent on an arena presentation of the cretaceous period in all it’s glory. This is presented to the public in an arena setting, meaning that the show will be displayed in a huge screen for your viewing pleasure. If you are a fan of dinosaurs or ever have been in the past then this will be a great experience for you to become closely acquainted with your favorite lizards from ages past.

You can experience this event from July all the way to august, so get ready to buy your tickets and take a trip into the past that you never would have thought possible. If this sounds like something that would interest you then you are quite in luck as you can find all the information you need regarding attending the shows online either at it’s official website or on the website of one of their many affiliates. This happens to be a huge event so you will no doubt be able to find someone that has decided to cover it!

Whether you are young or old, big or small, you will enjoy this presentation as it drags you through the creation of dinosaurs all the way to their humble end. No matter who you are, this is the show for you. So head online, or call your local box office for showtimes and prices. This is definitely one show you’re not going to want to miss.

If you do happen to miss one showing don’t be incredibly discouraged because chances are you will catch the next one! Not to mention it’s showing at many different places, so you aren’t going to experience overcrowding regardless of how popular the show happens to be. Just keep an eye out for showtimes and you’ll be able to get in on it in no time!

Atlantic City Holidaying Amid the Recession

The Economic crisis this year seems to have hit hard. And with the predictions of it not ending anytime

Recession Atlantic City

soon, it sure has acerbated this holiday season. Going to a favorite holiday destination might not be on the list for many this holiday season amid rising unemployment. But the people are still ready to take the bull by horns with shows booked all over the city. Surprised?

Don’t get me wrong, we aren’t breaking any records here, but tickets sales are certainly higher than what most people expected this time of the year when even Mr. Donald Trump is worried. People have found  uncompromising ways of dealing with the recession. I have friends that say they are mingling locally instead of driving to neighboring states. A few others canceled their big spending trips to Vegas and decided to go watch the fireworks locally instead. Locals are keeping business alive more so than ever in Atlantic City and ticket sales perhaps reflect that sentiment.

News has also come in to us that some casinos in Las Vegas had a little bit of a change of fortune in the month of November. One of the casinos reportedly beat their revenues from November 2007, something we haven’t heard of from the casino industry for a while. While we don’t think that this is happening in Atlantic City yet, our hopes are high for 2009!

Markets are flooded with books that claim to help you to “deal with recession”. Although it wouldn’t be a bad suggestion to save your dime on those. Admittedly, keeping the holiday spirits high might be difficult through a recession, but not impossible. People have eventually come to believe that a perfect holiday is not about going on a spending spree. It’s all about enriching yourself with good memories. That’s what gets us through periods such as this one.
